A curious fact found was that the Racism had been presented long ago, going back to colonial times, when people were outside their office as their skin color. Also ells rise of the Ku Klux Klan, and do not forget what is called shame of the twentieth century: Hitler. Finally it is believed that racism does not make sense because if you know people of other nationalities, has a culture different from yours, you have much to learn and discover new worlds and new horizons. All are believed to have some racists, and we fully understood the racist term that we handle, because already mentioned above mind that here in Mexico is not skin color but the social status which is more marked which defines you as a person within a community. Case Reflection: State Paternalism and Pregnant Women The case of “State Paternalism and Pregnant Women” is overwhelmingly fascinating as well as very controversial. In fact, this case was so controversial it went all the way to the Supreme Court before a decision was finally reached. Personally, I was unsure of where I stood on this specific issue the first time I read it but ultimately I came to agree with the supreme court’s decision that protected the right of pregnant women from being arrested due to positive drug tests that were given to the police, without the patient’s knowledge or consent. Although I find this case very intriguing, I chose this case to do a reflection on based upon the overwhelming amount of ethical questions…

How would you like it if you knew that you were being treated unjustly? No one likes to be treated unjustly. No matter what your race may be or what gender you are; everyone should be treated fairly. For the world to have a moral society, people have to treat each other fairly, regardless of their biases. When people base their opinions on one aspect of a person, they begin to judge them and look down on them, and no one enjoys being looked down upon.…

The United States of America was founded on the principles of freedom, liberty, and democracy. With the achievement of the right to these principles through the American Revolution came the need for a redefinition of women’s duties, standards and rights. The role of white, American women in economics expanded from the four walls of their houses and edges of their families land, to positions in factories and public workplaces. Their presence in education shifted with the achievement of freedom through the values of “republican motherhood,” in which mothers were tasked with bringing up bright, educated and patriotic offspring (mainly their sons) that would determine and hold the future of the country. Socially, women carried the burden of maintaining…

Institutional Racism Over the last century, America has taken legislative action to prevent acts of racism and discrimination from penetrating society. Laws such as the 1964 civil rights act were established to provide equal treatment to all, regardless of race, gender or ethnic background. In 1954 the Supreme court ruled on the case, “Brown V Board of Education” stating “We conclude that in the field of public education the doctrine of 'separate but equal ' has no place. Separate educational facilities are inherently unequal” (Administrative office of U.S. courts, 2016). While these laws eliminated many forms of segregation and racism, tension between minority and majority dominant groups still remains in American society.…

A Broken and Corrupt Foster Marcia R. Lowry, founder and executive director of A Better Childhood, once addressed on how, “It’s likely that these children have been terribly damaged. Now they face the foster care system… so having faced one terrible situation, they might wind up in another”. This is a clear example of how kids in foster care will end in lots of damage during and after the system. Corruption in the foster care system will affect many children psychologically because of the issues and problems they go through every day in a system that is broken. Taking in a child who is not your own because their parents are not capable of doing so has been happening way before having its official name.…
