When creating products/services to meet the quality standards of the customer and also the industry standards and legislation, procurement is critical in identifying the specifications and restrictions to adhere to. Procurement often includes purchase planning, determining standards, supplier research, financing, inventory control, disposals and supply administration, which all leads to specification development, outputs and functions. This also ties into quality management which oversees these required tasks to reach the desired expectations and standards. Quality management is the act of creating and implementing plans to improve products and maintaining quality control. Quality control is ensuring that these standards are maintained or improved where needed. Both quality control and management set the standards for all staff within the organisation to strive for ‘perfection’. This is achieved by training employees, setting benchmarks for product quality and testing products/services for significant variation. If employees are trained specifically they can deliver the accurate product knowledge to customers and assist with enquiries which lead to improved customer satisfaction and feedback which in turn …show more content…
Continuous customer communication is also useful here in the way that suggestions can be made and feedback given to take into consideration of service/product design. It is obvious that legislation cannot be bent and must be strictly adhered to. This outlines the importance to have employees qualified if carrying out work on vehicles or at least highly trained with specific product knowledge and trading laws.
