How to Get Away with Murder centers around the lives of a criminal defense attorney and her elite group of law students. Within moments of the main characters being grouped together, they soon become entangled in a web of lies, murders, and mysteries. As the bodies begin to pile up around them, the students begin to become desensitized and lying seems to become their reality. Oliver Hampton is the embodiment of compassion for the entire group regarding their actions, as shown in the episode “He’s Dead” when he makes sure precautions are in place to protects the group’s latest victim. Corruption seeps deep within the plot of the entire series, making everyone around the group hard to trust. When she is helping the students cover up yet another death, or framing another helpless soul, Annalise Keating can be seen drowning her sorrows in her liquor cabinet. At the end of the day, no matter how hard they have tried to avoid it, each of them must eventually face the full consequences of their actions. The series shows how people will do just about anything to advance their personal agendas.

This is their own personal baptism, in the confines of their home. They are able to confess their sins and begin anew day as if what they did yesterday did not actually happen. But these things actually did happen and so they must repeat the cleansing process every night in order to wipe the slate clean just for it to become dirty the next
