Three Forms Of Government

States are the structures of governments in a nation, which usually have enough power to enforce its court orders, a legitimate authority. The state is a nation considered as an organized political community all controlled under one government (Oxford Dictionary). States have full administration over their territory and have the authority to announce laws. It maintains the rights among its society and people, with also the power to oblige taxes on citizens.
Today, many types of states exist depending on their classification of government and how effective they function. Democratic Regime: Democracy is a political system with human and civil rights, elections, and rule of people. It is a regime with several parties, and the power usually alternates amongst these parties. Elections occur with great competition, everyone voting for their party and favored leader. A constitution is present, which restrains the government, and protects the society’s civil liberties. This guarantees civilians freedom and rights. With laws imposed, little corruption is present. Democratic regime consists of many ideologies and many independent interest groups that pressures government for policies it favors. It is run by a marketing economy in which decisions on the economy (investment and production) are based on supply and demand, and the prices of goods. The media are free, meaning it contains complete freedom to pursue the job as needed. This regime has its own military; however it is inferior to elected officials. Authoritarian Regime: It is governed by a small group (one party) or a dictator. This party claims all the power. It limits individual freedom, but citizens obey law and pay taxes. It is a nondemocratic government. Elections held are a scam. There are no ideologies followed or believed in. The constitution followed restrains individuals, and gives few civil liberties. Interest groups are not independent and are state-supervised. The economy is partly state-run, the military is entwined with the regime, and corruption is continual.
