This prompted the Institute of Medicine to do a review of the vaccine adverse events and a report from a 2013 CDC study show that there is no correlation between immunizations and autism. Other reasons some parents want to take an exemption and not immunize include: concerns about vaccine harms, a preference for natural immunity and a belief that they could protect their children in other ways. In this day and age of social media and internet, there are many sites that publish false information about vaccines and parents fear the adverse events of immunizations more than the diseases the vaccines could prevent. Diseases that once killed thousands of children have been wiped out completely due to safe and effective vaccines. If more states allowed the “conscientious exemptions” then other children would not be safe in schools. Vaccines can help reduce the cost of health care tremendously, as it could cost thousands of dollars to hospitalize a child for a few days for a vaccine-preventable disease. It is my opinion that the reasoning behind the introduction of this law is to encourage parents to vaccinate their children at no additional costs to them. The impact that this law will have on consumers of healthcare is that they will have vaccines and other healthcare screenings at no additional costs, but in order for this to happen one must have insurance in the first place. Fines will be charged for not having purchased insurance, but in the long run, will it be cheaper to just pay the fine or pay an arm and a leg for insurance
