Correction of Non Cephalic Presentation
Within the realm of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a marvelous treatment option for pregnant women whose unborn child has not yet inverted to the position of head down as the time for birth approaches. Cephalic presentation is typically expected in the third trimester by the 34th week. When discussed in Western Medical practices this condition is known as Non-Cephalic Presentation (NCP). In more non-scientific circles the common title is known as a Breech Baby.
TCM has a known singular acupoint known as Urinary Bladder 67 (UB-67, Zhi Yin, Reaching Yin) that is heated by Moxibustion. The heat is supplied by the burning of dried Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort) or as it is known in TCM, Ai Ye. Moxibustion

Additionally, although we are primarily taught one method, we are also aware of other point choosing methods as well. As an example, there are Master Tung Points which includes a great many more points. TCM is easily not a singular path. With that knowledge, it can easily be understood that there is truly no such thing as a “Sham Acupuncture Point.” Every point on the body has the potential to manipulate the flow of Qí. Whether or not the user understands it as such. There was no mention of how the conclusion was made to use Spleen 1 (SP-1, Yin Bai, Hidden White) as the “sham point.” Additionally, SP-1 is also known to have a connection to the uterus as well. According to Deadman’s Manual of Acupuncture, when needling SP-1 and Moxibustion is applied to Stomach 36 (ST-36, Zu San Li, Leg Three Miles), bleeding anywhere in the body can be halted (primarily to the uterus). According to Deadman, needling SP-1 is a classical known point for stopping bleeding and indicated for uterine bleeding as well.
