Corporate Sponsorships Should Be Allowed In Schools Essay

There is often a lot of speculation about if corporate sponsorships with schools should be allowed or not. People often argue over whether students should be exposed to an ad filled environment and corporate influence or if they should be subjected to an ad free environment. While ads can often be bothersome to see, they can often be influential to both the viewer, as well as the producer of the ad. Most people do not always realize just how much of an affect ads can have on people. Although I do believe that corporate sponsorships should be used in schools, I believe it should only serve as a symbiotic relationship that benefits the school, students, and the company. One favoring reason why there should be ads in school is the fact that it can be beneficial to multiple parties involved. For example, Mac sells discounted computers to schools resulting in a collaborative effort that benefits the school, as well as benefiting Mac. The students receive nice computers that the school is able to get at a discounted price. In return, these students are taught how to use Macs, so after they are out of schooling they often get a Mac since it’s what they know to use. Considering computers are important assets in schools, the students benefit from this because they are offered nice computers in order to …show more content…
Students are forced to go to school, so people need to see the perspective that we are forced to walk down the same hallways and see the same ads— we need to acknowledge the fact that students will not be placed in a necessarily distraction free zone. Having a sign placed by a door advertising a Big Mac could entice students causing them to alter their attention to the advertisement. Recognizing that teenagers often get distracted at the smallest things can be very impactful when concluding what should be advertised in
