Ford Motor Company has consistently been “nominated as one of the world’s most ethical companies” (Powell, et al., 2014). The company embraces CSR, and is involved in several practices included, improving employee conduct and well-being, community involvement, and sustainability of its products (Powell, et al., 2014). A crucial aspect of CSR that Ford promotes is its involvement with community. The company states that it is “continuously expanding financial contributions and volunteer efforts around the world” (Ford Motor Company, 2016). Moreover, the company states that 55.6 million dollars goes into direct corporate charity, and another 37.2 million dollars is raised the community investment arm (Ford Motor Company, 2016). In addition, the company participates in various events, as well as sponsors several events in the community (Powell, et al., 2014). The article by Powell and colleagues (2014) suggests that every Ford dealer also does its own charitable work within the community. A few of the programs Ford has created for community involvement are: Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies, which promotes higher education and career development, and The Ford Volunteer Corps, which rebuilds homes, and engaging in community rebuilding (Powell, et al., 2014). The company has several charitable and volunteering efforts which impact the community greatly.
