Corporate Culture fosters innovation using global factors
Corporate culture can be defined as beliefs and behaviors that determine how a company 's employees and management interact and handle outside business transactions (Corporate Culture, N.D.). Global factors that affect organizations are political, economic, social and technological. Political factor can include any of the following, laws of data protection to environmental and trade police’s, to government stability and changes in tax policy and competition regulation. Economic factors include growth rates, inflation and interest rates. Unemployment trends, changing labor cost, credit availability and trade and fiscal policies. However at that time, not many agreed with his perception of the organizations long term status. To help explain and gather all levels of management and employees together to see his vision, Nayar used three out of the five discovery skills to enhance his message.
Analysis: First skill Nayar used was to observing, where he observed closely at the trends of global factors and the level in which the organization was growing. This skills gave Nayar a better insight on what areas needed to be address for the organization to maintain revenue and a stability not only short term but for long term success. Nayar then realized after talking to some of his management staff that not everyone shared his views on the status of the organization and situation they might face in the future. To help create a sense of awareness on the issues Nayar sense for the future, he used two skills together (Questioning, Networking) to create a form for communication, discussions and feedback on a massive scale across all managers within the organization. The first step was meeting with vast managers across all branches, giving lecture and answering and asking good quality questions. Next, Nayar asked each manager to video record themselves answering the question “what would their business plans be for the organization”. Then Nayar had
