I believe that the reason that large corporations use sports to endorse their products or market their brand is because they want you to associate their name with the sport. For example, a child who is a fan of hockey may see their favorite player advertising a certain product, the child may then believe that he/she needs that specific product. Since professional athletes are so highly valued in society, we tend to idolize them and see them as role models. This provides corporations the perfect way to promote their brand through sports to endorse their brand. From watching the video, there was no link to Coca-Cola and the Olympic games. Drinking a bottle of Coke is not going to improve health or help you win a gold medal. To improve on this, it would have been better to see a youth sports program in connection to the Olympics and winning a gold medal, as this encourages exercise and both are related to each other. Sports sponsorships should promote the health benefits of sport and physical activity to educate society on positive effects of exercise and physical activity and inspiring the youth of the nation to get involved in sport and maybe one day represent their country at the
