Anyone who trains seriously knows the meaning of intensity. It is the trainer against the weights with only two possible outcomes: complete the lift or fail. As the trainer makes there way to the bar they began to prepare themselves for there final bench press, the real deal, the pump to the iron, the best of the set, and they know what needs to happen to complete this exercise. The trainer’s adrenaline is rushing as they begin to prepare to un-rack the weight, slowly lower the bar to their chest, and extend their arms all in one figured motion. The one last breath before the trainer grabs ahold of the barbell, lowers it, and pushes it back up with the best of their ability. The trainer conquered their goal and is elated! But what if things happened a little differently? The trainer’s ego gets the best of them and they try to lift more weight than they can handle, this is when injuries arise. Research explains the corollary of heavy lifting "Caution must be used when increasing weight amounts, however, as attempting to lift weights that are too heavy can result in muscle injuries and other health problems." ("Consequences of Lifting too Heavily") The human body is not made it be invincible and can only tolerate so much stress until the body decides to give out or on worst cases, shut down. The human body is naturally lazy; the person must get out of bad habits that they have encountered before their fitness life to even begin to overcome the goal of building muscle. So, if you want to build up more muscle, you need to be patient with yourself, work hard, and watch the slow gains until you reach your goals as to how you want your figure to be. The human body will only respond to a combination of training, diet and rest so much within a period time. As people have said, "You will not see results the next day" because that simply just does not
