MATERIALS OVERVIEW
The following materials are designed to assist both teachers and students with planning and/or executing all aspects of this Cornerstone. Visual images and links to video are provided as well as guidance for facilitating Close Viewing. Student annotation materials, student self-assessments & reflections as well as teacher rubrics are provided to aid in measuring student outcomes and progress in a variety of ways. Detailed instruction of daily lesson plans within the Cornerstone as well as an overarching unit overview are provided to offer contextual information for planning and implementing this unit. Teachers may pick and choose which materials they feel will best support their instruction.

LESSON 5-7
Shadow Box Theater Construction
Students will begin by creating individual design sketches.. Groups will discuss ways to combine design strengths from individual plans in order to create one collaborative theater design.
Students will apply creative problem solving and engineering skills to uncover ways to creatively manipulate materials to create 3D shadow box theaters through guided discovery.
Students will use tools and materials in a safe and responsible way.
