The Cornerstone Seminar is the first college class that I have taken in eleven years, so what can I say, I learned a great deal, or in actuality… I am sure relearned. I was a continual college student for a period of six years either part time or full time during the early 2000’s, but I muddled around and changed my degree four times. Hey – I want to know everything about everything – and that’s a big task! It’s an annoying peculiarity about myself that I am attempting (yes, this is in present tense) to overcome. I have genuinely enjoyed the class and am appreciative of Dr Clermont-Ferrand for her attentiveness and approachability. In the Cornerstone Seminar class, I have learned many techniques to tackle academic writing and approach digital communication with consideration and confidence.

In examples one (1) and three (3), I appreciate the exercise to summarize, paraphrase, and quote. These exercises are ideal preparation for the larger writing assignments in this class as well as others to come. In example two (2) I favor this post due to the subject content. I agree with Gladwell in his book Outliers, that practice and perseverance generally lead to success (p 47), but I am a firm believer that success is often founded on opportunity. If one captures the opportunity for success it is still achievable even if the threshold of mastery has not been crossed. On the whole, the discussion board topics were interesting and provided a solid platform to provoke critical thinking and meaningful class participation, which will be useful in future classes as well as outside the world of
