Corn Maze Short Story

A long ago there was a curious boy and girl that were riding with their friends mom, to a corn Maze. The boy was very excited to go to his first corn maze, and the girl was excited to wander around the maze and jot down thoughts about their surroundings. As the car gentled to a stop, the friends looked out the foggy window to see a creepy shack sitting in what seemed the middle of nowhere, next to a corn maze. The children slowly adapted to their surroundings, and gathered the courage to see if there was a man at the old mossy covered shack. There was a gleaming golden bell at what looked like the front desk, although, when the boy with his quivering hand touched it, it was the sound of an old wind chime, broken down over all the years. Slowly they heard footsteps, the floorboards were creaking as this gigantic beast came to the register. …show more content…
Slowly as the boy opened his dry mouth, he made out the words, ‘’Directions please?’’ The man walked backwards, then returned with a coffee stained tan map of the corn. The kids quickly raced away, to the mom who allowed them access to the maze. They ran into the maze, giddy as a kangaroo, waiting to find the treasure at the end of the maze. After 20 mins the children were lost. The boy was confident they weren't, but the girl was very hesitant and would not budge from where they were standing. Panicking, the girl and boy started to shout out, for hopes that the girl’s mom would hear and help them. Refusing to give up, the boy kept leading the girl in circles, and deeper into the maze. Soon they gave up on walking in the trail and started busting their way through the
