The setting of the play takes place in the city of Corinth which belongs to King Creon now. The play was undergoing in the bronze age at the time which means that it had features of urban civilization. On top of that, the ancient greece culture is known for its uses of metals and craftings such as their weapons, sculptures and much more. This culture is relevant to the play because their were many factors that made Jason suffer such as the God of Athens helping Medea, the cursed gifts she made and the sword she used to kill her children with. Another reason why their culture is important is because without the monarchy in Corinth, the whole story would be different. This is because King Creon ruled the city and without his high ranked power he would not be able to banish Medea. Overall the ancient greece culture is what affected the play the
