Three Core American values that complement each other in my opinion are Progress, Science and Technology, as well as Practicality and Efficiency. I feel these three Values are directly correlated in one way or another; as these might even be the largest three in American society today, here is why!
Americans pride themselves on being as efficient as possible through practical progress. Furthermore, this can actually be revised in many ways to get to an equivalent result. It is why I think not only are they correlated but the top three of our current values. These values directly neutralize one another; the logic is so strong in my opinion there isn’t much to be said. However, I will state my opinion on these values and how they contrast.
First I would like to point out the obvious in the naming of two of these values, Racism and Group Superiority as well as Equal Opportunity; if something is superior by definition it cannot be equal. Racism is a mindset of a group or individual that puts another group down, or below them. This also is an unequal way of thought, so these values clearly contradict one another.
Finally, Democracy and Free Enterprise is inconsistent from Group Superiority, once again the difference is identical to the last. Superiority opposes the relationship between Democracy and Free Enterprise, as it promotes equality. As we all know, Democracy and Free Enterprise in America actually contradicts itself. If they truly promoted equality then big business and small business would be on an even playing field. This Core American Value is, in my opinion, the most contradictive of all; depending on if you look at it for what it stands for or how it works in America in opposes the other values mentioned
