Purpose: The purpose of our experiment was to precipitate Copper (II) Phosphate Trihydrate and determine percent yield, also to react an aqueous solution of Copper (II) Chloride with aqueous Sodium Phosphate and describe the reaction. Procedure: To conduct our experiment 10 milliliters of CuCL2 and 8 milliliters NaPO4 was added to its own 50 milliliter beaker. These solutions were then combined in a 150 milliliter beaker and mixed for 1 minute. The PH of the mixed solution was checked to see if it was accurate enough to go on with the experiment. The solution was then filtered using the vacuum filtration technique.…

    Pill Bug Experiment

Purpose The purpose of this lab is to investigate animal behaviors by diving into the world of ethology. There are two ways pill bugs will respond to environmental stimuli: Kinesis (non-directional response) and taxis (directional response). Kinesis occurs when organisms (randomly) move around quickly when they’re unhappy and slowly when they’re happy, which is best demonstrated when one lifts up a rock or other material that the pill bugs are under. In contrast to the simpler response that does not necessarily involve many neurons, taxis is often observed in response to changes in light, heat, moisture, sound, and/or chemicals (odor).…

Percent Copper In Brass Lab Conclusion Emily Oleisky The purpose of this lab was to observe the amount of light a solution absorbs, and use the relationships in the Beer-Lambert Law to determine the quantity of a certain compound within a complex sample. First, the relationships between wavelength, concentration, and absorbance were determined. This lab focused on identifying the absorption of copper in various brass samples, and finding the percent copper in brass. In the first activity of the lab, the scientist was trying to determine the difference in molar absorptivity across various wavelengths of multiple salt solutions.…

Procedure Due to factors that could negatively affect my project, I had to create an additional procedure. Since lima bean seeds require maximum sunlight in order to germinate, I would have to move my planting cups around my backyard throughout the day in order for them to germinate in favorable conditions. The cause of this is the fact that the sun shines in different areas of my backyard throughout the day. Consequently, I created a garden to make moving the planting cups around simpler. If there is a certain spot you plan to plant your lima bean seeds that constantly has sun throughout the day, this portion of the procedure is not necessary.…
