In order to be a cop you must have a high school diploma and a two year college course work or have an associates degree. A bachelor's degree is the minimum required to be a cop. First you have to pass the Law Enforcement Entrance Exam and the police training which is usually provided by the police department depending where you are. Training can last about 6 or 7 months depending on where you are. The whole process last about 8 months, and then you can wait and see the results and see if you did get hired or not. You must have police academy training in order for you to be employed to be a cop. The most you need is the fitness components.
