After speaking with administration, I was enlightened that there were students at my own high school that were going home hungry on the weekends and also over school holidays. I was aware of the issue that was impacting my fellow peers and I created a plan to help accommodate those students and their families. I want to be able to provide them with a Thanksgiving meal.

This project carries a lot of meaning for me in the sense of community. My community is extremely important to me as I feel each person carries their own burdens, but as a community, we should all be there to support each other. In a sense, this project has blessed me just as

Garrett Middle School was moved to the “current” site in August of 1972. The school was designed in the open pod/ team concept. If we had gender neutral bathrooms in our school, it would make genderqueer (transgender and non-binary) questioning students and feel much safer and better represented in their own school. To begin, many genderqueer students feel unsafe in single gender restrooms, and the psychological effects are damaging. Going into single gender bathrooms can cause anxiety, fear, and other stresses for genderqueer students.…
