Near in the Ozark Mountains, live the two of finest coon hunters ever lived. Old Dan, a dog with brawn and Little Ann, a dog with brains and Billy is the trainer that made them the finest hunting dogs in all the Ozarks mountains. They are famous for their amazing coon hunting skills. But, so after that fame, something dreadful will happen. And what a sad story, it was. Billy was affected by puppy love and it never left him. But he did want just any dog, he wanted a hunting hound. So he saved up some money to buy those hounds. Finally after two years, he has enough money to buy the hounds. He visit his grandpa and asked him to help him get the hounds for him, the ones he saw on the sign. His grandpa is so move by his hard work, he decided to …show more content…
He travels to the city and sees the wonders and horribleness of it. He finally comes to the train stations and gets his dogs. After he get his dogs, he starts to head for home, but some bullies come towards him and pulls his dog's ear. Billy is then furious and fights them off, but there were too many of them and he was beaten to the ground. A marshal comes along and the bullies ran away. The marshal then brought Billy and his dogs to a store and gave Billy some soda. Afterwards, Billy leaves the store and said goodbye to the marshal. Billy heads for home and fine his mom knitting something. He runs to his mom and starts to cry. His parents then ask him about how he like the city and Billy said that he hated to city. His parents are in shock and tell him that they are saving money to go to the city because they want Billy to talk to people and learn a better education. A few days, Billy starts to train his dogs to become the finest coon hunter. A few months have passed and two of the Pritchard boys challenged him to fined to ghost coon and kill him and they will give him two dollars.
