The advertisement I chose was the Adidas World Cup advertisement selling the cool blue F150 soccer cleats. I play soccer at DBU and enjoy looking at the latest soccer cleat trends and when I came across this ad on google I felt drawn to write about it. Ever since I was a kid, I loved brightly colored soccer cleats. My parents would save up extra money for me to go and buy the latest shoes that I was convinced would help me play exceptionally better. This advertisement is excellent for the sake of making the consumer desire to buy the cleats, and allows the consumer to believe that having the cleats will improve their soccer game. Adidas makes the customer wish to buy the shoes because the ad appeals to the audience using pathos to make the consumer fantasize about buying these cleats to make them a goal scorer on their team.
In the advertisement, it shows him playing in a match juking players and running past them to get a goal. His rivals cannot catch him and are trying everything they can to take the ball from him, but Messi runs right by them. Sparks are coming off of Messi’s shoes and in the

The shoes themselves are bright blue and stand out and that is directly linked to confidence. Forwards who want to score want to be seen as creative and different, they want to stand out and be seen as the exceptional player who beats everyone and score goals. The sparks coming off the cleats makes it appear that the cleats are lighter and help Messi run faster, and soccer is a game all about speed. If a player is faster, they will beat you and run by you. There is also a huge crowd in the audience and that makes the consumer believe if they buy the cleats more people will come to their games. The advertisement appeals to the athlete’s ego, saying these cleats will make them a star and that they would be noticed and have recognition and fame just like Messi if you buy the
