People say GMOs have not been tested enough because we are now just hearing about them. However, modern day GMOs have been present since 1996 and George Washington experimented with genetics when he crossed his apple trees. Also, some people say that GMOs hurt the economy because countries will not want to trade with us or have bans on genetic products. Eventually, with the success we have accumulated in GMOs the countries will have to lift restrictions. Countries will not be able to produce enough food for their people or will realize the effects on the environment and will have to play catch up when it comes to GMOs. Finally, people worry that the genes from GMOs will spread into other crops destroying biodiversity. Only two studies out of the thousands have shown that with minimal evidence and flaws in their procedure due to improper barriers and suspicion the data was changed. The two studies were discredited and eventually dismissed by the scientific community however people still like to point to them when it fits their
