First some pushing in competitive sports is good for kids/teens. According to Jacqueline Stenson “some 19- or 20-year-olds may wish their parents had pushed them more to stick with sports when they were younger rather than giving up…”. This shows me that pushing can be good because, it can force teens/kids to think about if they want to really quit a sport or keep going. The first piece of evidence is that it can help prevent obesity (Sarah Davis). Helping with preventing obesity is definitely a big point that in my opinion should be discussed on the news just as often as the ‘negative points of competitive sports’. Second piece of evidence is that it definitely gives you physical advantages (Kirk Mango), for example like the gym and cardio room at school. This can encourage players to work out more often to help them play better and have a healthier lifestyle. The third piece to this would be if you walk/ride your bike to school to get to the practices you can get a lot of exercises from just doing that (Anahad O'connor).
