Making headlines and causing controversy in the following years are dress codes in schools. In the American school system students are allowed to wear no uniform granted they follow the rules. In 2014 students home were sent home for "exposed shoulders, thighs or for wearing revealing clothing". In Minnesota 200 students were sent home after wearing shorts in the middle of summer. Later that week at a different school asked female students out of class to be given an immediate assembly describing that shorts and yoga pants were not "permitted and distracting". Students as young as four are being over sexualised and having a dress code forced upon them. The schools excuse is that certain clothing choices are "distracting" for male students
