Controversy: Gun Control In The United States

Gun Control There is so much controversy in America and one of those controversial topics is gun control. America needs to come together and work together to create a solution to all the gun violence in the country. There has been too many shootings, deaths, and injuries and the government can change that. The country needs to come together to find a way to make both sides of the argument equal by creating a balance in the arguments. Giving control to only one side would just create stronger tension between the two groups. There are more and more shootings every week with people dying, from kids to adults, and certain people of the government just sit there and they keep letting it happen. People just get over it until it happens again and still no action is taken because they believe once there are gun laws in effect it will lead to their guns being taken away. But there are ways to make America a safer place from gun violence. There has to be more laws put into place for buying or owning a gun. It’s sickening and tiring to keep seeing stories of different shootings. According to the Center for Disease Control(CDC), there are 33,736 deaths per year from firearms. Those deaths are caused by incidents such as suicide, homicide, and accidental deaths. With background checks, this number could be lowered. According to the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, 62% of deaths from guns were suicides, 35% were homicides, and about 3% were unintentional. Many of these lives could be saved if we enforced more checks and limitations.
