The therapist should start this module by explaining why controlled breathing is important to Amy with simple and concrete examples. Such as: “ You know Amy, sometimes you may feel upset, nervous or angry, which is normal, we all feel in this way time to time. Today we are going to learn a magical way to help ourselves to calm down. You know what? When you can control your breathing, you will find that it much easier to control these bad feelings. Would like to try?”
Then the therapist demonstrates how Amy should be comfortably sitting in the chair. Feet must be on the floor, and arms at her sides. The therapist may say, “Lets place one hand on your tummy and the other on the chest (by showing the right place)”. Amy’s each attempt must be praised by the therapist and after a couple of tries,

So the therapist should explain the rationale for Amy by age appropriate way. “ Do you remember? We have talked that we all feel bad sometimes. When we have those feelings, our bodies can sometimes get tense or tight (by using body language). But I know a way to get rid of those tense feelings and we are going to learn to relax your body today” Amy will benefit from tensing and relaxing entire body technique, and the entire learning process has to be enjoyable and easy to follow. Firstly, Amy chooses the most comfortable body position, and then attempts to tense and relax her entire body. In this way, Amy can learn control and relax her body in order to reduce her intense negative feelings. In addition to these two techniques, if Amy experiences intrusive thoughts “thought stopping technique” could be utilized for Amy. However, there is no sufficient information addressing this issue. Moreover, parent session and homework are essential parts of this training. Unfortunately, Amy’s mother is not reachable often times, but if her current caregiver is able to learn these skills, and she will help Amy use them at
