It’s supporting because Egeus has the right to control Hermia because Egeus is Hermia’s Father. Egeus controls Hermia by making her marry Demetrius. In Act 1 Scene 1 39-40, Egeus said “Be it so she will not here before your, Grace consent to marry Demetrius.” If she doesn’t marry Demetrius Egeus will kill her or she have to be a nun. She doesn’t want to marry him she wants to marry Lysander.
