“I Cross My Heart” It is 8:00 P.M. and it is pouring rain, emotionally froze and tired, sleep is the farthest worry from the mind. Dancing in the falling rain, thinking, this is not how life was supposed to happen. In everyday life no one understands the struggle for some and the ease of others. One may not understand the pain that a person carries around with them everyday, just because the smile fooled him or her. Sometimes a song or a movie can carry more meaning for a person than one may think. The song talks about an endless love that is seen about ten minutes into the movie. Dusty finds himself back in the bar that started his career making eyes at a pretty lady, Harley, and finding trouble. As Dusty is out dancing in the rain laughing to himself, he over hears a scuffle between Harley and a man, and decides to interfere. The man then proceeds to beat Dusty and leave him lying in the mud at the door of Harley’s truck. It is then that Harley makes the crucial decision to either save her drunken knight in a cowboy hat or leave him behind in the rain. The two are clearly smitten from the beginning, giving the song perfect opening lyrics “Our love is unconditional, we knew it from the start. Lula thinks that fame and money are everything, and not having a constant reminder of that fame and money, drives her to be bold, daring, and vindictive. She shows up to the bar where Dusty, Harley and her family are spending time to coerce Dusty back to the bright lights and the even bigger light show. In the scene Lula surprises Harley in the bathroom and proceeds with “You like sleeping with my husband?” throwing Harley into a time long ago, when those words had brought her back to earth and flat on her back. In the time it takes to get Dusty to his show in Las Vegas, he tells Lula that money and fame is ruining them, and he learned in his time away that it means next to nothing without the one worthy of a love so
