For the engaging across difference in the wider word project I decided to create a board game that contrasts electric cars and gasoline powered cars. This way I can inform players of the benefits that electric cars have on the planet without boring them to death with a long 10-12 page paper. My idea behind the game came from thinking about how there is a car player piece in monopoly, which was one of my favorites to use. I began with a simple game setup and tried to create a game that was easy for just about all ages and enjoyable too. Using different types of facts, statistics and real world examples of things that happen in the car industry is the main way that this game conveys the message that electric cars are far superior than gas powered

While players travel around the board they will land on spaces and pick up game cards. Depending on the space it could be a positive fact that EV have or a dehumanizing revelation about the destruction that automobiles have on the environment. Creating an emotional appeal and dropping harsh news on the players will create a bigger impact on them. When players learn that combustion vehicles spit contaminants into the air that contribute greatly to smog and photochemical haze that directly impacts all humans who just step foot outside, they will think twice about continuing to drive their gas guzzling pick up truck. The logic that I used to spark thought will help to create a new found learning when playing. I’ll show the wide variety of EV that are out there to suit all needs of all consumers. Making it known that EV can produce the same performance and qualities of a gasoline vehicle will open minds and incline buyers to make the switch from gas to electric. Statistics, data and research will also implement thought and logistical reasoning inside the players heads as they play.
