When first reading this discussion board I was confident that this would be an easy task to complete. After reading the details in each statutes i have become more confused about the crime committed in this situation. The consent of the victim is the major issue i have come in contact in determining the criminal conduct involved in this situation. Stated on page 151 in the textbook "The general rule is that if the victim consents to the movement, even if the consent was obtained by fraud, there is no kidnapping." Amanda was led to believing that if she was to accompany Ryan on a trip that she would get married on Monday. Amanda agreed to accompany Ryan to the cabin which made it an act of consent.
