The health care field is every changing and it is important for nurses to stay up to date on the current treatments, policies, procedures, and diseases. In the health care field there is “continuing professional development (CPD), [which] is an iterative and integral part of both professional and personal development” (Hayes, 2016, p. 860). The nurse is responsible to keep up to date on the most current information. In Massachusetts a nurse needs fifteen continuing education credits every two years (Mass.gov, 2012). The strategies that I would use to make sure I get the fifteen continuing education credits are to keep track of how many I have. The education system that the hospital uses has opportunities for the nurses to take classes online
