Continuation of the Dream Dreams are the very fabric of people’s expectations. Some know what they dream of being and some don’t. I am a psychology major and I want to become an adolescent therapist. I knew this long before I started my dream project. It’s what I have always wanted to do. I knew I would have to have good social skills and understanding of others feelings. I also understood that I would have to go to grad school and that I would not make an extravagant amount of money. I accepted that because being a help to others with emotional and mental disorders was satisfying enough in itself. However, doing the dream project did give me a margin of pay and confirmed my desire to be a therapist. It also gave me areas I could live in that would provide better pay and therefore kick start a way to my dream of having my own therapy clinic. I kind of liked and disliked this dream project though. I have to set goals to keep on track. Along with my major, the minors that would help me are communication, art, and sociology. I intend to minor in all three so I can be well rounded and be open to more job possibilities for therapy. In order to do so I must keep my grades up and put in as many class hours as I can while maintaining my job so I can pay for these classes. I intend to intern at South Alabama’s psychology building next semester which will contribute to clinic hours and experience which will help with my job choice. The last goal I have is to figure out a good thesis and collect data on it throughout my psychology major so that when I get to grad school I can easily develop a well-defined and supported thesis with ease and to have the opportunity to get published. Being published would launch my career forward by massive strides and therefore solidify my ability to have my own
