In recent years, many organizations have begun using an alternative workforce, which includes contingent workers. Utilizing contingent workers has been an increasingly common component of contemporary workplaces (Banerjee, Tolbert & DiCiccio 2012). Contingent workers include: independent contractors, leased employees, consultants, college interns, and temporary employees whereas, core employees are the full time employees that are permanent. They are receiving benefits which are available for permanent employees. The most common advantages of using contingent workers including the cost savings, efficiency, recruiting opportunities, and flexibility.
