What is a workaholic? A workaholic is someone who works all the time and thinks it is the most important thing in the world. The story, “Contents of the Dead Man’s Pockets” by Jack Finney, is about a man who was working on a big project and wouldn't go out with wife, Clare, to watch a movie/play. While Clare left, his project’s paper flew out the window, so Tom pursued it. The paper went on the building's ledge, in between two objects. Tom thought it would be easy to go out and grab the paper and just head back inside. While he was outside, he discovered it would be much harder to grab his project. The main idea of the story that it’s okay to work hard and all the time but take breaks. In the beginning, Tom just worked all the time.
