The location I chose for this assignment is my home county, San Diego. San Diego is known for having the best weather in the United States, which it can attribute to its geology. San Diego is also well known for consistent droughts; however, its current unique geography is a result of ancient rivers and seas depositing Cretaceous and Tertiary sedimentary rocks. As a result of these ancient rivers, “San Diego County can be divided between three distinct geomorphic regions: the Coastal Plain region as exposed west of the Peninsular Ranges, the Peninsular Range region, and the Salton Trough region as exposed east of the Peninsular Ranges. This geomorphic division reflects a basic geologic difference between the three regions, with Mesozoic metavolcanic,…

I identify greatly with the vision at Santa Clara University. Ever since I was young, I have dreamt of changing the world for the better. I hoped one day I could save the world from itself. To be the superhero that would swipe away the conflict and pain that is ever present in today’s media. While the dreams of saving the innocent from super villains has faded, the backbone and underlying foundation has not dissolved.…

Throughout these many years, I am born during the year that claims me to be a millennial child; a millennial is someone who is approximately born around early 1980s to early 2000s. I have experienced the uprising of technology, diversity, and the exploration of art for the masses. As an art major I have been to various galleries and seen various arts through media and the affects it has on consumerism. However, this discussion draws my attention to The Great Wall of Los Angeles in relation to Judith Baca’s work on it. Made during the summers in the late 1970s and finishing around early 1980s ; it was a project that most likely will not have an ending and will continue to be a project passed down to the youths and artists of the future.…

Getting Things Started My state is South Carolina and The reason I picked it was because it is my birth state. South Carolina has many cool things to it like being the golf capital of the world or that the trees cover two-thirds of the land, or even that their most valuable catch is shrimp. South Carolina is filled with interesting facts like being explored by the French, Spanish and English, the first State to leave the Union, and the first battle of the Civil War. A universal theme for me moving from Texas to California is overcoming. I was 8 years old when my family moved, and had to overcome knowing no one, a new school, and being out of my comfort zone. At this age you tend to start making good friends, all hang out in groups, and be less adventurous. My parents kept saying, “Find people who like the same things as you, and everything else will be easy”. The next week I did just that.…

Hawaii, the home of white sand beaches, pro surfing, hula dances, and warm weather. If I could move to any region within the United States, I would move to Hawaii with no hesitation. Hawaii contains a prestigious hospital and the opportunity to become a surfer. Both of which of which I have always dreamed of being a part in. Nothing would make me happier than becoming an orthopedic surgeon operating out of a Hawaiian hospital working on shark attack victims and other unlucky victims who need orthopedic repair, then go straight to the beach to surf and relax for the remainder of the day.…

The University of Southern California is a top notch facility with premier applicants from every corner of the world, each with something that is essential to understanding them. As for myself, I feel as if my story would not be complete without telling the tale of my rural upbringing. Coming from a modest town of 2,144 residents in northwest Indiana, my day to day experiences have been a lot different than those I would encounter in Los Angeles, California. While going from being surrounded by people who ride their donkeys to school to being surrounded by people who ride their long boards to school would be quite a culture shock, it is exactly the type of adjustment I need to transition into my adult life. Although the environment I grew…

Hi mom and dad I like to live in the coastal plains because it has all the resources us humans need unlike the west part of Texas. This part of Texas is mainly filled with human resources. First reason I would love to stay here is because of the education, here there is more city than country so there would be lots of room for development. Another reason is that there is more things to do over here than out there in the barren landscape, here in the coastal plains it would be easier to find a job because there are lots of people but in the west you would have to travel miles to find a job place. In the coastal plains there is lots of food and water, the best sources of water for us are the rivers of Texas, the food comes from the organic producing…
