Chapter Title: Chapter 8 Constructed-Response Assessment: Completion, Short-Answer, and Essay Items
Summary: Chapter eight is all about constructed response assessments. These types of assessments are completion, short answer, and essay. Completion assessments are incomplete sentences with one or two blanks and students must fill in the missing answer. Short-answer items are an assessment in which the student is given a question, and they must answer in several words or sentences. Completion and short answer questions are good way to measuring a student knowledge because these types of answers can be completed quickly. Essay items are more complex because the student has to organize their thoughts into completed sentences and paragraphs. In essay items students may be asked why they agree with or disagree with something or idea.
