The United States Constitution is a very significant document in the history of United States. The constitution establishes “Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity” (US constitution, 1988) In this article a summary of the United State Constitution will be demonstrated, include its seven articles and twenty-seven amendments.
There are mainly seven articles that show the main structures of the constitution, includes United States’ law made by Congress, includes House of Representatives and the Senate; the President, Vice-President, and Cabinet carry out the laws made by Congress; the courts decide criminal and civil court cases based on the federal, state, and local laws; the States may develop their own laws that not against the constitution; the Constitution can be changed; the Constitution and federal laws are higher than state and local laws.
There are also currently twenty-seven Amendments as supplementary to the main articles namely citizens are free to have their own religions, rights to publish and speak; citizens are free to hold their own weapon; armies do not have rights to enter private properties without permission; people have rights to refuse unauthorized searches and arrestments; the government must follow the law before punishing a person; all criminal prosecutions and accused should all enjoy right to speedy and public trial; the value in controversy should exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury should be preserved and no fact tried by…
