Setting an Example has Consequences
After warning my class once, I warned them again. However, this time was with the threat of taking away their recess. We were in the library, a quiet place, and my students were being abnormally loud. I felt that I needed to make a statement. My belief was that two warnings were enough. On the third time around, their recess was taken from them.
The next day, a parent called to talk to my principal about the recess situation. The parent said that her child should not have been punished because he was not talking.
