Consequences Of Sexting

How big of a problem is sexting? Sexting is a big deal/problem because its dealing with our young children in this new generation.I think is a big problem because its bad for us as parents for allowing us to let our children do it.I also think its not a bad idea because its great for our children to keep there pants on and not trying to get physical whit someones child.Teens should have the privacy they need as they are becoming young adults. The reason why i say sexting is a big deal is because they have consequences to sexting. The consequences are what is the person your texting gets made at you and leak the things you sent. What if the person accidentally just say she lost her phone and every photo y'all sent meaning photo's messages

In "Why Kids Sext," Hanna Rosin addresses the phenomenon of teen "sexting," a term which she attributes to the sending of nude photographs. This includes everything from willingly sending a photo of oneself, to sending a photo of someone else to a group of one's friends. Rosin states that this practice has been on the rise since around 2003 and that it became evident that it was a problem in 2009, with a scandal in Pensylvania. Since then, sexting has continued to be a serious issue in many high schools, and even some middle schools. Rosin attempts to explain why teens are partaking, and how it should be dealt with.…

Patricia Loher SOC- 220 10/28/14 1. Before entering this sociology class I have never heard of the phrase moral panic before. So to me after learning about what exactly a moral panic is, in my own words a moral panic is basically an extreme panicked response expressed by the public believing that a certain issue threatens a “normal” society, (social order). When comparing Cohen’s processual model and Goode and Ben-Yehuda attributional model of moral panics, there are many similarities and many differences. Both of the models state that moral panics are some kind of extreme forms of actions, motions, occurrences that construct social problems in a society.…

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, sexting is defined as “the sending of sexually explicit messages or images by cell phone.” After reading about sexting and several cases in our textbook, in my opinion I think there are some flaws to this law. Although it is obvious that sexting can lead to consequence to those who become victims it seems like it should only be applied to certain things and not everything. For example, the female juveniles who took nude photos of themselves, and sent them to three boys should not face felony criminal charges. Based on the minimal facts given in the textbook, it does not make sense to charge someone who took nude photographs of themselves with child pornography because they are under 18 and in addition…

Teen sexting has been a controversy for years, due to its legal connection to child porn. The two terms have separate definitions, but can overlap depending on the age of the person sending or keeping the message. The definition of child pornography states that any sexually-explicit picture or message of a minor, consensually given or otherwise, will always be child porn and is subject to a criminal charge. This leaves consensually sexting adolescents in a bit of a bad place. They are at risk of being sent to prison or sex-offender registration for willingly participating in an activity with no intent to cause harm.…
