Consequences Of Hester Prynne In Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter

In life people make many choices. Some are made to have positive emanations and some have negative complications. People sometimes think about the weight of the preferences and think about the pro’s and con’s. Hester Prynne is a major character in The Scarlet Letter and made one big decision. This judgement had many consequences. The verdict that she made was to have an affair with Dimmesdale after wedlock. This verdict caused huge effects. Both positive and negative reactions change her life. In The Scarlet Letter, by Nathaniel Hawthorne, Hester Prynne chooses to commit adultery with Dimmesdale and faces many complications. From the verdict that she made, she experiences many negative ramifications. After committing adultery, the Puritan society thought of it as a sin, since she did it out of wedlock. They figured it out because she had a child named Pearl, and her husband hasn’t been there for years. Her punishment was to wear a scarlet letter in the shape of an ‘A’. This letter would separate her from other people in society and would make her unique. Except this unique characteristic was not a positive one. People would look at her in a negative way.
