CONSEQUENCES OF GLOBAL WARMING ON HEALTH ISSUES One of the biggest problems facing the world today is global warming. Many scientists believe that our production of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases is having a heating effect on the atmosphere, and this could be very dangerous for human life. It is now widely accepted that climate change is occurring as a result of the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere arising from the combustion of fossil fuels. A rational cost benefit analysis of most global warming scenarios indicates that it would be cheaper and more effective to prepare to adopt a warmer climate than it would be to try to prevent global warming, So as to this, the consequences of global on health issues creates a growing danger to the ecosystem we live in. Some of the consequences of global warming that affect health issues are, Infectious diseases, Air pollution, and Extreme Weather Events The first consequences is Infectious diseases, Changes in the risks of infectious disease would occur, particularly as a result of climatic influences on the vector organisms for diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, the viral encephalitis and West Nile virus. Increased temperatures and changed rainfall would affect the range, proliferation, and behavior of vector organisms and intermediate hosts and the viability and maturation rates of the infectious agents. While richer, developed countries might be able to maintain public health…
