Consequences Essay ~ Creative Title Have you ever wondered why certain television shows or movies approach topics differently? Do you ever just hear something in a certain voice and instantly remember it?
From 1993 to 2017, through entertainment and education, the television show Bill Nye, the Science Guy demonstrates the foundations of Science. Bill Nye, a Boeing mechanical engineer with a bachelor degree, started a show back in 1993 starring on Disney channel called Bill Nye the Science Guy. This 100 episode show that spanned 5 seasons ended in 1998, however, he started a new one called, Bill Nye, Saves The World, in 2017. This show was geared toward children, whether it was to help kids understand a concept of science or just to entertain those of interest. The main purpose is to educate kids and help them have a better understanding of life in this world. The way Bill went about this is by making a show in which each episode consists of a 20-minute debriefing of a specific subject which may include Probability, Pollution, Climate, Motion, Population, etc. Even though this is geared mainly toward kids in Elementary and Middle school, it is family …show more content…
This episode is exactly what it sounds like and it is very easy to understand. The show starts out with a physical demonstration using an enclosed fish tank and a truck with a bunch of waste. The fish tank represents the earth being closed and not allowing for Pollution to get out. The chemicals then mix with rain, carrying it through groundwater to rivers, lakes, and streams. Lawn Mowers, wood stoves, motorcycles, cars, trucks, and cigarette smoke are all examples of little pollutions, but when each person does the same thing they add up. Bill goes on to explain that water that goes down storm drains goes straight to the bay, however, water that goes down toilets and sinks goes to the waste sewage system and is purified before sent back
