The Process to Be Better Parent
My six year old daughter is going through a phase where she does not want to; eat, do homework, listen or accept any help I might be able to offer her in regards to her daily chores in summary she is being a brat. This frustrates me because she has a very strong character and does things only her way and/or oppositely just to challenge me. I am desperately looking for a way to deal with this and in the process hope to be able to help other parents who might find themselves in similar situations. I have tried; the nice easy way, gently talking to her, giving her time outs, giving her instructions in a loud strong tone of voice, taking out privileges, and spanking her and motivating her by offering to do some of the things she likes the most. It not only teaches children correctness but it also makes them aware of their actions as they relate to their behavior, children become better at deciding how and when to and not to and make responsible decisions that not only make them feel good about themselves but also proud of their ability to be able to decide wisely. This behavior creates a sense of security and responsibility that translates into a well-mannered and behaved child. As a parent I strongly believe this to be most effective way to teach my children to make wise choices that will ultimately help me accomplish my goal to be the best parent I can
