So it is very important that I build the foundation of always getting my work done, and done the the best of my abilities. Another important thing to remember, is that you should set the goals for yourself. Don't set goals and expectations based off of others success. There is significance of the way we go through our college years, there is no direct path for everybody, and nobody takes the exact same path. However, the importance of Selingo’s argument is to apply yourself the best way you can throughout your life after high school. There is no correct way to do it, you don't have to sprint like everybody tells you to, you can also wander or stumble into your future. After reading Selingo’s article I found that the best thing to do is have a plan, and try to figure out that plan as soon as possible; this is an important part of his argument. Before coming to college everybody told me it will be the most fun part of your life, nobody really told me how stressful and important it is to study, stay on top of deadlines, and especially budgeting your money.…

I started attending Lone star college right after high school, at first, I began with the typical high school graduate state of mind, which was that college was going to be a breeze and that it would all be fun and games; more worried about what was going on in my social life rather than studying the books. Especially since I had no real responsibilities to handle or much life experience. Around my first year of college, I started dating this girl and not long after we conceived our first son. Once this happened, my focus slowly shifted from school to working a full-time job at a welding shop in order to provide for my family. I still tried to attend class but was unable to find the balance between work, school and family and this reflected my grades.…
