After a 14-year absence from the big screen, the once prominent franchise made its thunderous return with Jurassic World – posting a three-day opening total of $204.6 million, becoming the biggest weekend opening of 2015. The sequel also came within an arm’s reach of being the highest-grossing opening of all-time, coming in just below 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers ($207.4 million). To boot, the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise has already out-earned the entire lifetime gross of its predecessor, Jurassic Park III ($368.7 million) and should easily take-down The Lost World ($618.6 million) this week. Jurassic Park (1993) earned slight more than $1 billion,
