The Dinosaurs of Jurassic World have cause to celebrate – after unleashing their uncontrollable fury, thus taking a monstrous bite out of the global box office.

After a 14-year absence from the big screen, the once prominent franchise made its thunderous return with Jurassic World – posting a three-day opening total of $204.6 million, becoming the biggest weekend opening of 2015. The sequel also came within an arm’s reach of being the highest-grossing opening of all-time, coming in just below 2012’s Marvel’s The Avengers ($207.4 million). On the single day front, Jurassic World managed to gross $84.4 million on Friday, alone – good enough for the second highest single day opening of all-time (though still well below the $91 million earned by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2). …show more content…
