Cons Of Abortion Pro Life

Abortion has been a controversial issue for a very long time, with major arguments revolving around it’s been morally right or wrong. “An abortion is performed to end a pregnancy before birth occurs” (Wexler.) The two sides in the arguments about abortion are the pro-life movement, and the Pro-choice movement. The former takes a position that supports the legalization of abortion, and the latter sees no moral justification for abortion, and sees it as murder. This essay discusses the justifications as well as the limitations of the augments made by both sides. The different views about when a baby is actually living are the reasons behind the controversy of abortion. I choose to write about this subject because I want people to know what each …show more content…
The pro-choice supporters think these reasons all point to the fact that the baby is not wanted, thereby see no reason why the woman should be prevented or stigmatized for getting rid of something that belongs to her. It is analogous to going to the dentist to have a tooth pulled out because it is causing a pain that is becoming unbearable. Women should be given the full right to do what they want with their bodies. After all, a woman who wants an abortion will still have an abortion regardless of whether it is legal or not, and illegalizing abortion will only lead to the woman resorting to illegal means of aborting the baby. Women should be given that equal freedom of self-assurance that, if they get pregnant, they can easily get rid of the pregnancy if it is going to impair their career or education …show more content…
Certainly, there are complications resulting from abortion just as there are complications resulting from getting a tooth remove. Post abortion complications may include the following: blood cloth, premature death of subsequent pregnancies, stillbirths, low-birth weight, and so on. However, most of these complications can only be associated with the methods used to perform the abortion and not to the abortion itself (Hadley.) Similarly, there are some claims that women who have abortions suffer some mental hazards or psychological stress, but this psychological stress can even be worse if a woman is denied an abortion. In actual fact, any feeling that comes after abortion usually is relief. When a woman chooses abortion, “severe negative reactions are rare” (Hadley.) What happens to a child who was not wanted in the first place and the mother was denied an abortion? When she gives birth to the child, there is a slight chance that she will like the baby. However, what usually happens in such situations is that, the baby gets abandoned, or even killed. Crime studies reveal that more than eight out of ten new born babies who get murdered by their mothers are from unwanted pregnancies (Hadley). It is logical to say the mother who aborts her baby seven weeks after conception will feel less guilt than a woman who killed her one

Abortion has been a great topic of debate for many years, both in terms of law/rights and in morality/religion. The constant debate has split people into two sides: Pro-Choice and Pro-Life. Those who are Pro-Choice believe that women have a right to decide the fate of their body, health, and life. They personally may not get an abortion, but they feel that it is still the right of the mother to choose. Abortion prevents unsafe pregnancies, protects women 's right to choose, liberates women from patriarchal control over women 's sexual and reproductive lives, and allows the mother to choose whether, when, and how often to have a child.…

There are few things in this world that will strike more fear into the heart of a woman—or a man, for that matter—than an unplanned pregnancy. Now the woman faces a choice: does she carry the fetus to term, or does she terminate the pregnancy? There are countless reasons for both options, such as the mother’s health, the health of the fetus, religious views, and how the mother was brought up. There are some instances in which a mother could feel that she could not rely on her family for support, such as cases of rape and incest. In this paper, I will take a categorical approach to show you how abortion can be ethical.…

The word “abortion” brings back many conflicting memories, such as the countless hours spent talking to my pro-life friend, or the time when I decided to watch a cartoon about abortion. Knowing that I would dislike this essay, I felt compelled to read it anyways. Two paragraphs in, and I knew that this is going to be the essay I wanted to analyze because abortion is a topic that very easily moved me. Additionally, I enjoyed the style of this essay since it is very descriptive and evaluative. It addresses the controversial problem as to whether abortion is pro-choice or pro-life, but never answers this question.…

You can have an incomplete abortion which means the fetal parts or other products of the pregnancy may have not been completely removed for the uterus.…

Personally I am biased about the topic, so just for this time I will choose a side. Abortions are done for hundreds of reasons. Some of them being: rape, mental abnormalities, and the fear that the child might suffer. Although no one has the right to end a defenseless child’s life or any life for that matter, if the baby won’t be warmed welcomed then its best to not have it. As a wise man once said, “You can see into the future, and it’s pretty scary”.…
