Conrad Aiken was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 5th, 1889 to William and Anna Aiken. At the age of 11, his father for a reason seemingly unknown, murdered his wife then himself, Aiken was then raised by his great aunt in Massachusetts. He continued going to private school then later, went on to attend Harvard University, where he edited the Harvard Advocate with T. S. Elliot.
