The solution of this equation was 1.11 hours, so I plugged it back into the equation, for “h”, to see how long each of us travelled. My parents travelled for 1.11 hours, while we only travelled 0.96 hours, since to get the actual hours you had to subtract 0.15 from “h”. Since we left at 11:24 a.m., I added on 58 minutes, or 0.96 hours, the time travelled, and found that we would meet my parents at 12:22 p.m. To figure out how far we travelled, I plugged the hours travelled back into the equation. This being said I multiplied 71 mi/hr times 0.96 hours to get 68 miles travelled from State College, and I also multiplied 67 mi/hr times 1.11 hours to get 74 miles from Slippery Rock. When we met my parents we talked for about 15 minutes.…

The neighborhood was noiseless, and the sky was pitch black, for there had been no moon on that summer morning in June. My mother and father started our car and waited for Sofia,my sister, sean ,my friend, and me to get inside. It was time to leave our dull suburban home in San Jose, and drive to the beloved National Park, Yosemite, to hike Half Dome. On the car ride there I had slept, but awoke right when we had gotten into the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Looking outside of the window and noticing all of the evergreen trees was surreal for me, as I rolled down my window a strong smell of pine and fresh air poured into the car.…

I was over ecstatic when Fernando, (also known as Fernie) my best guy friend asked me to go on a walking adventure with him in our hometown of Kelseyville, California. We started off the day by walking in the forest alongside of Kelsey Creek. This forest has a really big meaning to Fernie and I, because we both love nature in every aspect and these walking adventures are not uncommon to us. Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…
