According to Connick (2017), Even the best salesperson is a work in progress. You can always find a way to develop your skills, work on your pitch, and learn more about the products and services you sell. Due to price-fixing in the past, a customer friendly dealer could make a good living. Having no discounts and having a manufacturer’s agreement meant that the dealer would need to be an effective listener, be attentive, have patience and have a positive attitude. If a dealer failed to honor the agreement, the dealers license would be revoked.
This reflection article serves as a reminder to always give excellent service. Due to regulations, this has become unlawful and now manufacturers may only suggest prices. Currently, only a few guns or attachments sell at its full price. My Remington 700’s price was reduced by $300.00 and is match grade out of the box. When buying the rifle, I noticed an increase in availability and effort placed into marketing the rifle.
I realized that due to higher volumes of the rifle stock, dealers were price cutting to outdo each other. The goal should be fairness while being competitive. This competitive drive comes from knowing that the manufacturers have no control over the rifle once it leaves the

Larger companies save money through bulk purchases and this allows them to get better prices. The small dealer may still make sales due to the manufacture either limiting or halting sales to chain stores and primarily catering to a customizing or sporting goods shop. A Gunsmith that deals in weapons has an advantage of spending more time with a client and can make recommendations to them about modifications and ammunition for target shooting or hunting.
