For thousands of years, human has been using different ways to communicate and express their thoughts and feelings. There are three primary methods of communication: verbal, written and body language. From the very beginning, human form incoherent words, draw symbols to communicate with each other. Nowadays, with the help of modern technology, there are more ways to communicate than hundreds years ago.
The information conveyed through communication can include facts, ideas, concepts, instructions and emotions. Communication plays a huge part in our daily life. The Business Insider website ( businessinsider.com, 2011) stated: “Apple has now grown into a $326 billion market cap tech behemoth with Jobs at the helm.” One of his rules to success is to master the message. According to Jobs, one can have the greatest idea in the world, but if the idea isn’t fully delivered, it’s useless. Therefore, instead of just making a presentation like most people do, he informed, he educated, he inspired and he entertained, all in one presentation.
2.2 Politics and communication
Is the key to good politics is through good communication? History has proved that by having effective communication skills, the leader has the power to change the world. It either changes in a good way or bad.
Undoubtedly, Adolf Hitler is the most well-known villainous dictator, a ruthless leader in the 20th century. On the other hand, he was also a persuasive and prolific communicator. Hitler wrote, “The power which has always started the greatest religious and political avalanches in history has been, from time immemorial, none but the magic power of the word” (cited by Roberts, in “Hitler and Churchill: Secrets of Leadership, p. 26).
